Commonwealth Games Legacy – Standing Long Jump

With the launch of the Commonwealth Games by Year 4 we focus on our school games values for each event.  The values are Honesty, Passion, Respect, Self Belief, Teamwork and Determination.

For each event we try to focus on one or two of these values.  For the standing long jump we focused on honesty because sometimes when you land on the mat you do not always land with 2 feet together and stand still, sometimes through no fault of your own a little shuffle is added which increases your distance slightly.  I am delighted to say all the children were honest when it came to scoring the distance they had jumped.
